The Light of Conscience
At this time when conscience is at a low ebb in our nation we as Christians must be preparing to trust God and do right. Proverbs 5:11 proclaims, “I would have you learn this great fact: that a life of doing right is the wisest life there is.” However, to stand for the right when wrong is exalted will take courage. It is never easy to uphold our faith. We must not be mislead, to live for God will require us to take a stand. As the world’s light we are accountable to take our God-given role seriously. Proverbs 22:3 “A prudent man foresees the difficulties ahead and prepares for them...” Every stand for God should be based in scripture. Only then will we have a stable foundation and God’s own personal backing. Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God proves true. He defends all who come to him for protection.” Today consider what is God directing you to bring as a testimony to the world? Believers bear witness to God’s character. Believers bear witness to God’s power. Believers bear witness of God’s ways. Psalms 145:8-11 “Jehovah is kind and merciful, slow to get angry, full of love. He is good to everyone, and his compassion is intertwined with everything he does. All living things shall thank you, Lord, and your people will bless you. They will talk together about the glory of your kingdom and mention examples of your power.” Time is advancing toward a show down between right and wrong between righteousness and sin. The Word encourages us to be on the side of God’s favor. “...Blessings shall be showered on those who rebuke sin fearlessly.” Proverbs 24:25 May we join millions of lights for Christ throughout the world who are preparing to reflect the power and love of a righteous God.
