The Dilemma

    Since the beginning of time the Christian has been faced with a dilemma.  The Living Bible says, “...two forces within us are constantly fighting each other to win control over us, and our wishes are never free from their pressures.”  Galatians 5:17b With every human there is the struggle against good versus evil.  Within every Christian there are choices to be made concerning what is carnal and tears down my spiritual life and what is Spirit-lead that builds up my walk with Christ.  Besides this there is yet another conflict.  Sadly today mainstream Christianity is unacceptable.  Every believer must get on the path to Biblical Christianity.  Along that pathway there are hard questions.  We must ask, “why does popular or mainstream Christianity made allowances for corruption and the self life through movies, music, overeating or gossip, etc?  Many sincere believers continue to struggle with these issues.  We are so blessed that we have been taught to look to the Bible for our guidance.  These times of compromise give convincing evidence that we must reject popular Christianity and live under the simple and powerful teachings of God’s Word.  The compromise of Christianity will not get us anything from the unsaved but hostility.  Biblical Christianity is exciting, intensely challenging and the rewards unsurpassed by anything else life offers.  The momentum of this corrupt worlds’s system is gaining ground but the Christian must learn to wait upon God and His Word for the needed help and guidance.  In James 1:27 we are reminded of the real challenge, “...and who remains true to the Lord- not soiled and dirtied by his contacts with the world.”  As we battle together let us never forget these words from Romans 8:25, “So you see how it is, my new life tells me to do right, but the old nature that is still inside me loves to sin.  Who will free me from my slavery to this deadly lower nature?  Thank God!  It has been done by Jesus Christ our Lord...”  Fight on beloved believer, fight on.
