New Years

    The new year is almost here.  We enjoy thinking up our ambitious New Years resolutions.  Often they will come and go rather quickly.  But the Bible gives us a challenge that is one we shouldn’t overlook for it is for every day of the year.  Ephesians 4:23 “Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better.  Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good.  Clothe yourself with this new nature.”  These verses tell us we need a complete about face in our thinking.  We naturally think just the opposite of God’s viewpoint.  But the Spirit of God will give us a brand new perspective on life.  We need this partner of life.  Ephesians 5:18b “... be filled with the Holy Spirit, and controlled by Him.” vs 8 “For though once your heart was full of darkness, now it is full of light from the Lord, and your behavior should show it.”  One believer said it this way, “Get yourself up, morning by morning, to be led by the Holy Spirit and go forth praising and at rest, leaving Him to manage you and your day.  Cultivate the habit all through the day, of joyfully depending upon and obeying Him, expecting Him to guide, to enlighten, to reprove, to teach, to use, and to do in and with you what He wills.”  The simple truth is that the Holy Spirit will do a better job of running the show than we will.  What a partner, how kind, powerful, all-knowing, creative, dynamic and loving.  We should be standing in line to sign up.  In the new year of 2013 are your ready for a fantastic attitude adjustment?  Let’s welcome the Holy Spirit into our lives today and discover life at its best.
