Getting Off the Fence

Have you ever felt like holding back in letting the world know you are a Christian?  Yet as we read the Word we come to realize the tremendous gains in being a believer.  We need to get off the fence and proclaim, “No more apologies.”  We are on the winning side.  Let’s look at the scriptural facts then put our roots down deep into God’s confidant perspective on life.  “Trust in God and flourish as a tree.” Proverbs 11:28b  “The path of the godly leads to life.”  Proverbs 12:28  Our very existence is lived through Christ.  “In Him we live and move and have our being.”  Acts 17:28  The world is like a whirlpool sucking and straining to pull us into the glamour and allure of its godless system.  Deceit and lies are the method and strategy to induce humans to sin.  God defines those who give in as partaking in wickedness.  Wickedness is having changed from a sound condition to an unsound one, a rotting out of morality, deterioration from normal.  The scripture accurately tells the tragic condition of a man or woman outside Christ.  “Curses chase sinners, while blessings chase the righteous.”  Proverbs 13:21  “Wickedness never brings real success, only the godly have that. Proverbs 12:3  “The wicked will finally lose, the righteous will finally win.”  Proverbs 21:18  Even with these words ringing in our ears we may long to give in to the temptations of the world.  Our sinful nature is strong but God’s word is stronger still.  It alone has the power to transform our thoughts, desires, and actions making the Christian’s life one of hope and confidence.  “The good man’s life is full of light...”  Proverbs 13:9 “Reverence for God gives life, happiness and protection from harm.”  Proverbs 19:23   “Even the godly shall be rewarded here on earth” Proverbs 11:31  “The good shall never lose God’s blessings...”  Proverbs 10:30  It’s clear it’s time to get off the fence.  God’s wonderful promises are reserved for the believer who will wholeheartedly commit to living out their faith before a waiting world.
